Collagen inducers
What is
What are Collagen Inducers?
These are products that are injected to activate neocollagenesis (new collagen production). As a general rule, they are gels mixed with microparticles such as calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), polycaprolactone (Ellansé) or polylactic acid (Sculptra or Lanluma) that promote the activation of dermal repair processes and thus the production of collagen.

Information
How they work
Collagen inducers are compounds that stimulate the collagen itself and, in addition, act by increasing the density and thickness of the skin in a gradual, progressive and predictable way. Consequently, we achieve a subtle rejuvenation of the face.
Collagen activators stimulate the skin’s repair mechanisms in two different ways:
- Mechanical: Injected collagen inducers (Radiesse, Ellansé, Sculptra,Lanluma)
- Energy sources: Activation and creation of collagen by heat.
Procedure
At Clínica Tufet we combine the two techniques to achieve optimal results adapted to the characteristics of each patient’s skin. Therefore, we use focused ultrasound (Ultherapy) and monopolar radiofrequency (Thermage) to stimulate the collagen induction processes by a double route.
The injection technique is performed by cannulas or needles depending on the area to be treated.
Results
The results will be noticeable from the first day and continue to be visible for approximately one year. The formation of new collagen has been demonstrated by skin biopsies 3 months after treatment.
The most interesting results have been the increase in dermal thickness and its ability to achieve a gradual and continuous improvement of the skin surface for months. In addition, a tightening action of the facial contour is appreciated.
Recommended for
Collagen inducing substances are indicated for patients with mature skin that is beginning to show sagging, skin with loss of firmness or in patients with thinning skin (skin atrophy).
Treated areas
The most satisfactory results have been seen on the face and arms, notably improving small skin folds.
