Spots, redness, skin tone...

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a medical treatment designed to improve our skin. It acts on the skin by eliminating small imperfections, stimulating collagen and thus obtaining a clean, luminous and rejuvenated skin after each session.

IPL is one of the most demanded treatments by patients, especially for the treatment of blemishes, redness, veins (telangiectasias), reduce pore size and unify skin tone.

We present the case of a patient with skin phototype III, who presents several lentigines scattered on the face, mainly associated with sun exposure over the years. She underwent a single IPL session. After three weeks, a general improvement can be seen in the patient’s skin, diminishing the spots and restoring a healthier glow and appearance.

How does this treatment work?

During the procedure, wavelengths are used, depending on the chromophore to be affected, to obtain the desired results.

How is the immediate post?

After IPL, the skin is slightly reddened, and the spots we have treated will appear darker. Subsequently, these will fall, leaving the skin cleaner and more homogeneous over the following days. These reddening effects will be noticeable for 4 – 5 days, and are completely concealable.

How many sessions will we need?

We recommend 1 to 3 initial sessions and 1 per year to maintain results. The final result will be appreciated from the fourth week after the treatment.

How long does the treatment last?

Between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

What areas can be treated?

IPL technology can be used to treat the face, neck, hands and décolleté, and can also be combined with other techniques to enhance the final results.

It is a treatment that should be performed once a year, or every two years, to maintain the quality of the skin. It helps to delay the aging process of the skin, and is considered the most appropriate treatment to treat its surface.
