Wrinkles
What are wrinkles?
Wrinkles are folds, furrows or lines that form on the surface of the skin as a result of the passage of time and the progressive loss of skin elasticity and firmness.
They represent one of the most visible signs of aging, and can appear both superficially and deeply. Their appearance is related to the decrease in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, essential components that keep the skin smooth and young. Although they are a natural process, their intensity and location vary according to genetics, lifestyle habits and skin care.
Why do wrinkles appear?
Wrinkles arise due to a combination of intrinsic factors, such as biological aging, and extrinsic factors, such as sun exposure, smoking, stress or lack of hydration.
With the passage of time, the skin loses its ability to regenerate and becomes thinner and more fragile, which favors the formation of permanent creases. In addition, the constant repetition of facial expressions generates so-called dynamic wrinkles, which become static over the years.
Inadequate nutrition and exposure to free radicals also accelerate this process, affecting the structure and vitality of the skin.
