What is Miradry?
Miradry is a permanent solution for excessive AXILARY SWEATING.
Excessive sweating is defined as Hyperhidrosis, which is the production of excessive sweating that appears spontaneously, without being caused by high temperatures or physical exercise.
Miradry is the only FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and CE approved treatment that provides long-lasting reduction of underarm sweating in a completely non-invasive manner. It is a system that treats excess underarm sweating, and works with controlled microwave technology to permanently reduce the sweat glands that cause underarm sweat and odor.

How it works
It is a treatment for excessive underarm sweating that is performed in a maximum of 2 sessions:
In the first session, odor is reduced and sweating is reduced by about 50%. After a first evaluation, our Dr. MiraDry specialist estimates the necessary interval for the second session.
It usually takes 3 to 6 months to start the second booster treatment in which we achieve 70 – 80% reduction of axillary sweating.
MINOR TEST
The Minor Test is a test performed before and after MiraDry treatment. It shows the darkening in areas where sweat is abundant before treatment and the lack of darkening after treatment, demonstrating the permanent destruction of the sweat gland.
STEP 1
Once the armpit is anesthetized, the physician will place the head directly on your skin, aligning it with the temporary marking that we have previously placed on your armpit.
STEP 2
Next, the head will be activated. You will feel a slight suction as your skin and glands move closer to the surface for best results.
STEP 3
Finally, thermal energy is applied, which eliminates sweat and odor glands. At all times, the system keeps the area cool to protect your skin and maximize your comfort.

How many sessions are needed
The ideal to definitively end the excess of underarm sweating is to do 2 sessions. The second session is performed 3 months after the end of the first one.
In one session a 100% reduction of underarm odor and up to 50% reduction of underarm sweating is achieved .
If indicated by our specialists, the second session of the booster treatment can be performed, in which up to 80% reduction of underarm sweating is achieved.
Recovery and results
The patient can immediately return to normal life. He/she will need a few days before practicing sports.
Swelling or bruising may appear in the underarm area after treatment, which will disappear in a few days. Side effects may include a reduction of underarm hair.
The sweat glands do not regrow and there is no compensatory sweating effect afterwards. Clinical studies show that the Miradry procedure can reduce underarm sweating by more than 80%.
About sweat glands
While your body needs sweat glands to cool itself, it has 2-4 million glands and only about 2% are found in the armpits. Removing 2% of the sweat glands does not affect the body’s ability to cool itself.
